Panel discussion I — Packaging is no longer “just packaging”. Who really sets the rules of the game today?

15:20–15:50
Coffee break & networking

Space for business meetings, making new contacts and informal discussions.

15:30–15:40
10 minutes to the point

One question. Six participants. Ten minutes of open discussion. No presentations.

During the networking break you can join one of four short themed meet-ups at cocktail tables.

No lectures or prepared presentations. At each table, six participants and an expert facilitator meet to open up one specific question from practice in ten minutes.

How much should packaging cost?

What is worth paying extra for in packaging – and where does a higher price no longer deliver corresponding value?

The price of the packaging itself is only part of the overall equation. When is it worth investing in a higher-quality solution, and how should its real value be assessed?

What does bad packaging really cost us?

Damage, complaints, unused space, handling or slower logistics. Where do costs arise that we never see in the price of the packaging?

A discussion about costs that often remain hidden until we look at packaging in the context of the entire supply chain.

What does the customer really want today?

Does the look of the packaging still matter? Does the customer want less material, more convenience, a premium experience – or above all a good price?

What do customers really expect from packaging and what are they willing to pay for? And how much does their actual behaviour differ from what we assume about their preferences?

One pack, five different requirements

How do you align purchasing, marketing, logistics, production and sustainability when everyone expects something different from packaging?

Packaging decisions have long ceased to be the domain of a single department. How do you set up collaboration within the company so that the final solution is not just a compromise that ultimately satisfies no one?

Each topic is limited to six participants. Seat reservations will open to registered participants before the summit.

After the ten-minute discussions, open networking continues.

15:50–16:05
Partnership story II — How a joint project changed a customer’s business: industry

An inspiring example of collaboration between an industrial company and a packaging solutions supplier that improved efficiency, competitiveness or sustainability.

The case studies are selected by the expert jury of the Obal roku competition — so you can be sure you will see the best packaging solutions on the market. obalroku.cz

16:05–16:40
Panel discussion II — Price, sustainability or performance? How to make the right packaging decisions today?

Every packaging decision is a trade-off between price, functionality, legislative requirements, customer expectations and the company’s long-term strategy. How to find solutions that stand the test of time?

16:40–17:05
VIP speaker — European CommissionPPWR in practice: What lies ahead for the European packaging market?

The European Commission’s priorities to 2030 — and what companies should do now. The presentation will outline the European Commission’s main priorities in implementing the PPWR in 2026–2030. It will focus on harmonising the European market, the future of individual packaging materials and the development of collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure. It will also offer companies a practical compass: which steps should no longer be postponed and where it makes sense to stay flexible until follow-up legislation is adopted.

17:05–17:20
Discussion — PPWR and the European packaging market: questions from practice

The presentation will be followed by a discussion between Aurel Ciobanu-Dordea and Iva Werbynská on what the European Commission’s priorities mean for companies on the Czech and Slovak market.
